Photo Gallery: Exploring the Limits of Digital Enhancement - SPIEGEL ONLINE - International
Interesting how the edits (that i find are often of bad taste) are made in order to make the photos more cinematographic (irony anyone?) and more dramatic. Your reality isn’t real enough anymore.

Flipping through the (virtual?) pages of Shinjuku by Daido Moriyama. Whoa. The photos are amazing. I think i would never had the chance of flipping through the real pages of the real photobook… So, uh, for ~0.89€ with the http://shashasha.jp/ app it’s kinda interesting. o_o At first the app crashed a lot though, but now its behavior is okay. Might flip through the pages of a few more (virtual?) photobooks…
edit: i have the feeling the app doesn’t download/cache each bought photobook tho, as the pictures are sometimes slow to display… could be better I guess.
edit2: the photo ARE really slow to display, at least on my iPad 1, but i guess displaying pictures doesn’t require a lot of power so.. it must really have a hard time d/l-ing them… also no bookmark feature, and it seems to have to redownload everything / each photo each time.. not great.
edit3: if this app is really something legal (english? “lawful”?), they could make a better app… (i hope they will.) Of course, for the price I won’t complain much. But for instance, i would happily pay more for a plain .PDF, it’s a lot more practical, even if i browse it on my iPad…
